North Hills Club is a private athletic club nestled in the popular North Hills area of Raleigh, North Carolina. Hidden from the surrounding cityscape by its location and towering tree line, it truly is a relaxing natural oasis that is nearly unseen in the heart of an otherwise bustling urban area. Its popularity has brought about much expansion in recent years as its members have succeeded in creating a first class tennis facility! North Hills Club is recognized as one of the premier family tennis clubs in the South having been selected as the recipient of the USTA Outstanding Facility Award, one of only three private clubs in the nation to receive this honor in 2007.
Though the club has worked with the USTA through the years with this tournament, in 2007 we suffered a break in play due to new construction, and so this is the third annual Women's Challenger tournament - In honor of RBC Bank also climbing on board in 2008 as the tournament's main sponsor, the tournament was renamed the RBC Bank Women's Challenger. We are also blessed to have the patronage of Coca Cola and Courtyard Marriott, as well as superb local sponsorship - - We hope you will consider use of their services, as we are truly glad to have their help in the promotion of one of Raleigh's largest professional sporting events! Welcome to the 2010 RBC Bank Women's Challenger!
Directions to our facility are easy! From anywhere in the continental United States, just submit your address in the box below:
The tournament itself is structured with seperate brackets for both singles and doubles. Each bracket is single elimination. Without a high enough USTA ranking, a player may have to play their way into the singles competition in a seperate qualifying event which happens in the first few days before the main draw is released on Wednesday, May 12.
Tickets during the day are free from the tournament's start on Sunday, May 9th through Friday, May 14th. We will have a featured match in the evenings on both Wednesday, May 12th and Thursday, May 13th, and for these night matches tickets will cost $8.00 with children under 10 entering free. Tickets for Saturday, May 15th and the doubles and singles finals on Sunday, May 16th are also priced at $8.00. In summary:
